Our Story

Welcome to our flavorful journey!  Our story starts in Greyville, Durban, where our mother was born and raised. She sparked our passion for spices and curries early on, and we’ve been cooking up a storm ever since. In our family, curry isn’t just food; it’s a way of life, a tradition passed down through generations. As sisters, often called the twins, we've always shared a dream of building a business together. When the chance came to take over a beloved Masala & Spice company, we knew it was destiny. Curry Queen was born in 2014, thanks to the incredible Julie Naidoo, a master at creating the most mouthwatering curry spice blends you’ve ever tasted. Her spices quickly stole our hearts—and for over ten years, we’ve been her biggest fans. Her tasty curries became our signature gift to family and friends.  In 2024, Julie decided to pass the torch to pursue her dream of exploring India more deeply. Fast forward to February, and we stepped into the exciting role of owners of Curry Queen! Guided by Julie’s expertise, we’ve learned the secrets behind roasting, blending, and grinding spices.  Fuelled by our love for all things curry, we are thrilled to carry on the legacy of Curry Queen Masala & Spice!
